It was sad that it didn't help, I had been looking forward to getting out and driving a bit this summer. But I have to look for another solution. Bosch electronics service is available, but it is expensive. 1400:-euro.

I fitted the warrenty parts and it worked perfectly again. I presses the brake pedal many times (which seem to have triggered the fault before) and it stayed in perfect idle.

The CC module arrived today – remarkably good postal performance - and I have tested it in the car. Everything works as it should and I thank you very much for your excellent service.
The only issue I have is that the outer aluminium casing on the unit you supplied has the mounting bracket for a left-hand-drive vehicle, whereas mine is right-hand-drive. I feel the simplest solution for me will be to remove the circuit board/plug assembly from the casing you supplied and install it in my original casing. I note you have placed a paint seal on one of the closure tabs, I guess as a “tamper indicator” and I hope that my swapping outer casings will not void your 12 month warranty. I’m guessing that the unit will be fine in my 25 year old car for at least another 25 years!

I got items today. They are now installed and test ride is done.
I let engine idle 10 minutes and then about 10 km ride and finally about 45 min idle run.
Perfect RPM. The only thing I found is a little robust behaviour when injection is changing over from idle to normal run. I can live with it.
Now I live the car rest until next spring.
I hope this case is now closed.

The amplifier has arrived - and I have installed in the Easter holidays.
It work 100 percent fine. The speed is kept at the exact selected value - very nice!!
This has been a wonderful experience. The short story is: that a new amplifier at Mercedes costs 710 EU.
So I bought a used one from a car scrap yard. It costs 215 EU. But it didn't work at all. Went to the scrap yard dealer again - got another one. It work a little - it engaged, but the speed was very inconstant at normal drive. The scrap yard dealer offered me a third one. But at this time I have heard about your firm in Holland from a colleague at work…(he had bought a repaired unit – and was very happy wit it)
I now even discovered your instruction video as how to install the amplifier.

Almost every W-107 has that problem and idles to high or cruise does not work. I am importing these cars from the USA and will contact you again, when a problem shows up.
I have a nice 450SL of 1980 with low miles and it might have same problem too. The cruise does not work and it idles too high when cold. Also starts bad when warm…
I might send you that part too.

today the unit arrived and I've already built it back into the car. What
shall I say - every function of the tempostat is working now.
Of course I'm very happy because it's really comfortable using the cruise
control function. One year ago I built this used cruise control afterwards
into an old Citroën XM in which you can travel very relaxing for hours. And
if crusise control works again, riding becoms once more comfortable...

Hi,
I have a 1991 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit II with a VDO Cruise Control which is not working.
I have removed the Control Unit which I can send to you if you can repair it.
It is a VDO 412 212/4/1 with a date stamp of 06/91
Is this something you can repair?
Can you please tell me how much it will cost to repair, how long it will take and where to send it to.
I am in UK

Is no problem these units we can repair also.
The repair itself normally takes one or two days. Mostly the shipment
takes the most time. You can offcourse ship it with priority.
