ABS
Problems with the ABS modules are often caused by the modules that are mounted on the pumps themselves. The fault often starts with a sporadic failure (e.g. the ABS / ESP lamps come on now and again) and this increases with time until it stays on. It can also occur that other functions start to fail, the odometer, cruise control etc but the car can also revert to emergency running.
The fault diagnosis usually indicates:
- No signal from the speed sensors, e.g. wheel sensor front left defect.
- No communication possible with the ABS module.
- Pump out of specification.
Sometime the pumps themselves fail, e.g. VW Touran and Mercedes Sprinter are prone to this problem.
Modules and pumps with these problems can be repaired.

Cruise Control
The control units for the cruise control system often give problems and become defect. Many of the common faults are, spontaneous failure, can not maintain speed, continues to increase speed or the speed is unstable and continuously increases and decreases.
Spontaneous failure can be caused by poor switches (e.g. brake/clutch, on/off switch) and these need to be checked first.
We can repair nearly all common types of cruise control systems from 1975-1999 and we can deliver them from stock if required.

Diesel pump
Problems with fuel supply are common with Bosch and Isuzu pumps.
Isuzu:
The Isuzu pumps are used in Opel Astra, Combi, Meriva and Corsa models year 1999 - 2004 type Y17DT, 1,7DI 1,7DTI, among others. The symptoms are the engine will not start, the engine starts but then stops again, low engine power. This will be accompanied by the error code P051/P0251. The cause of this is often a defect control unit (EDU Electronic Drive Unit) for the injection pump. This is mounted on the diesel pump itself.
Bosch:
The Bosch pumps are used in many makes and models of cars, Audi, BMW, Ford, Opel, Saab etc. These pumps can fail spontaneously and the car will not start. This is commonly caused by a defect electronic control module that is mounted on the pump itself. (See video).
Normally both types of modules can be repaired.

Throttlebody
Problems with the throttlebody occur on nearly all makes of cars. The following symptoms are observed, irregular idle speed; idle speed is high, and the throttle does not react. Normally this is accompanied by lights coming on on the dash board. When the fault appears for the first time it can sometimes be reset by switching the contact on again. However the fault will occur more often until it will not reset.
We can offer a revision for some makes and models.

Mass airflow meter
Problems with the airmassmeter are often caused by poor air filters. Symptomes are less engine power, higher fuel consuption, irregular idle speed. The symptomes become worse with time.
At the moment we offer a repair service for some air flow meters made by Lucas. These are mounted in Landrover and Saab amoung others.

Ignitionmodule
Problems with ignition modules often occur in Mercedes models (1975 ~ 1999). This can be caused by a poor bobbin but they can spontaneously fail. Normally the ignition module fails abruptly but sporadic failure is also possible, in this case the engine runs erratically (timing is incorrect). This occurs more often in younger models that are processor controlled.
The ignition modules on older models can almost all be repaired or delivered from stock. The processor controlled modules cannot always be repaired and is dependant on the fault.

Radio module
Problems with the radio module occur regularly on BMW models 3, 5 en 7 series (E38, 39). When the radio module fails then often the sound fails. Problems can be sporadic but a total failure of one or more channels is also possible. Normally these problems are caused by a defect electronic radio module. In this case the sound from the CD player, navigation etc also fails.
We can offer a repair service for BM24 models.

Idle speed control
Problems with idle speed control occur regularly in Mercedes (1982-1992), Audi, and VW. The most commonly occurring problems are too high (1600-200 rpm) or too low (<600pm) accompanied/or not by engine switch off after a journey and/or irregular idle speed. These problems can also occur sporadically e.g. with damp weather, very cold or very hot weather etc. Sometimes there are problems with the valve (stepper motor) that is controlled by a regulator. We can repair these modules or deliver from stock. Our advice is to repair a problem with high idle speed as soon as possible as this is bad for the gear box. If the problem lies in the valve then there is also a risk that the control unit will fail which will increase the costs of repair.
We can repair nearly all types or deliver from stock.

Seat and mirror ECU
The Range Rover (1991 ~ 1995) and some Rolls Royce models often have problems with the chair and mirror ECU’s. The problems are abrupt failure of the control functions, incorrect functions (i.e. the chair moves when the mirror is selected) etc. Normally we can repair these ECU’s. You can find the ECU underneath the driver’s seat.
